Small Group Ministries

Perhaps one of the best ways to connect with God is by connecting with other people who are dealing with life from the same perspective that you are - struggling to find answers and trying in all of it to live while connected with God.  There are a wide variety of groups for you to plug in to.  Some are designed around age, with effective ministries for children and youth.  Others are for men or for women, others are designed around specific interests.  If you don't find what you're looking for, we'll help you start a new group to assist you with your connection.  Having a place with people you trust to share your struggles is essential in being able to connect.

Crocheting Club:  This small group began after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast Region.  It was begun to crochet blankets for victims and participants and produced over 100 blankets that have been taken to the Gulf Coast.  The crocheting club meets on Wednesday evenings in the Fellowship Hall.  You do not need to know how to crochet to participate!

Disciple Bible Study:  Disciple is an intensive Bible Study designed to transform the believer into a Disciple of Jesus Christ.  One or two courses are offered each year.  Disciple I is 34 weeks and introduces the class to the whole picture of the Bible, starting with Genesis and ending with Revelation.  Advanced courses are also offered.  Classes meet from 7:00 - 9:30 PM one day each week.

Senior Adult Ministry (SAM's):  This group of adults gather monthly for special activities designed for senior citizens.   A variety of programs are provided along with lunch.  This group has also been known to back up the bus and head out of town for excursions to Savannah, Lake Junaluska, and beyond.  SAM's also responds to the needs in the church.  This group meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

United Methodist Men:  This group is designed to foster relationships and spiritual growth among the men of Wesley UMC.  This group meets the first Sunday  morning of each month at 7:15 for breakfast, a devotional, and fellowship.

Women of Wesley:   Women of Wesley Bible Study (WOW) is held each Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 am and ends between 11:30 and 12:00.  WOW is led by Merle Byrd.  The ladies study different subjects with members participating in discussions during the study period.  Any lady who is interested in visiting and/or joining will find a group that has fun together, but most importantly love to study God's word and learn how to apply it in today's world.
